Favorite Instagrammers

Lately I haven't had any time for anything. Between university and work, I can hardly find any time to meet with friends or even have a relaxed dinner with my roomie. Days fly through and all I see myself do is write more and more appointments on my agenda for the upcoming months, which I know will come in the blink of an eye. On Saturday I recieved the letter of acceptancce from the Technical University of Berlin (yay me!) for Civil Engineering, so it's official! Then I realized that I have to do a thousand things before certain due dates in order to be fully enrolled at the Uni, which could only mean very little sleep and a lot of stress. So I'm asking myself, how am I employing my time?

First of all, mornings are the most important ritual for me. I get up one hour earlier than what I usually need to get ready because I love to have slow mornings in which I can slowly sip my coffee and eat breakfast without almost choking on the Müsli because I'd be late. Mornings are the key. That's why I try to look at my phone as little as possible: because once I open Instagram, I won't stop for at least 20 minutes which will not come back. However, lately I've been so detached from my phone and social media, that I feel like I need an inspiration kick.

Here are some of my favorite Instagram Accounts, for those of you missing some inspo source. Have a lovely week!

The Ocean CleanUp

Oh. My. God. I came across a certain post in 9GAG about a guy that had designed a way to clean plastic pollution in oceans and I was fascinated. Everything that has something to do with the environment automatically catches my eye and makes me dig deeper. His persistence and his passion are really admirable. I might have gone too crazy and read all about it. Maybe.

So he started this idea about three years ago when we was diving in Greece and he saw that there was more plastic than animals down in the oceans, and he made a little science project that was aimed to help clean and reduce the amount of plastic in the oceans. Not bad, right? We've all been in science fairs, exposing our nice experiments.

But he was driven by a passion. He wanted this to not just be a science project, but a real possible solution, so he did some research, modelled a first draft on his project and exposed it at a TEDx Event. He was brought down, criticized and held as a fool. No worries, he did some more extensive research, wrote down a list of 50 questions and decided to solve them all to make his project a viable project.

And hell he did.

Please share and spread the word about this wonderful project.

What I'm into...

Recently I've been fascinated by african head wraps and turbans. With summer around the corner and m hair getting frizzy and wild with the sun, I wanted to look for a way to tame it, hide it, or wrap it in a way that protects it from the sun and looks great. This week my major Tumblr search has been head wraps, the african way. I'm completely awed by how beautiful they look, and how chic it goes with a light dress and statement earrings. Of course, don't forget bright colors!

Obsessed: shift dresses

Summer's slowly peaking these days and all I can think of are dresses. Long, short, monochrome, pattern, you name it. All I want to do is wear dresses, drink lemonade and go roadtripping somewhere in Europe. But then reality hits me and I reluctantly crawl back to my desk and open all my Uni books. Well, for the sake of procrastinating (I have an organic chemistry test tomorrow), I'll leave some of my summer inspiration, you'll notice I'm blue-obsessed!

Have a nice week!

A literary quest

Some of the people that know me declare that I have a temporary obsession disorder and I do. From time to time I take a particular interest on something and obsess with it for months until I've sucked the life out of it and it out of me allI let it go. It doesn't bore me at all to have this little obsessions, I do enjoy having them and learning from them. I now have a flow of several topics of interest, but as I'm reading the A Song of Ice and Fire sequel (praise George R. R. Martin) I decided to polish my literature basics.

Academic Earth is the place to quench your short obsession's thrist. I mean, you can learn from every subject you want and from the best universities. If you also take interest in Literature, here you go!

Spring trends (so far)

The semester is finally coming to an end (tomorrow) so I get to have a break from studying and finally setting my mind on my favorite subject: fashion. Today, after swipping by Zara to indulge some shopping, I watched some of the Spring 14 designs in the best fashion website, Style.com.

                  Vionet                                             Valentino                                        Christian Dior

Transparencies are definitely one of the strongest trends for this spring, whether it's on black or in pastel colours.

Metallic colors and bold figures in Versace, honouring the critically acclaimed Grace Jones. Every single piece is perfection.

           Giambattista Valli                                Alexis Mabille                                          Chanel

Iceberg white and metallics.

Zuhair Murad                              Ulyana Sergeenko                                    Elie Saab

Of course the odd ones get their space too.

Viktor & Rolf                                    Maison Martin Margiela                             Schiaparelli
