Autumn (Uni)form

This is basically what I have been wearing everyday for University. Jeans. Sweater. Loafers. Throw in a jacket and a scarf and shut the door behind you: you're already late for your lecture. So have been all these days, specially Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when I have to be from 8 to 5 in campus, either at a lecture, or taking advantage of any free block, and studying or doing homework.

As for me: stressed, haven't slept, underfed, but well dressed! Above all, extremely happy! Everyday I'm falling more in love with civil engineering, and I love having so many inspiring and passionate professors that really put an effort on giving us an integral education.

I'm off to study Chemistry of Materials til my name is Zement.

Das oben abgebildete Outfit ist was ich mittlerweile jeden Tag zur Uni trage. Dazu kommt meine liebe Barbour-Jacke und ein Schal, und so heißt es ab zur Uni, denn ich bin schon zu spät für die Vorlesung. Besonders am Dienstag und Mittwoch sind meine Tage extrem stressig, da ich um 8 Uhr schon meinen Tag anfange, und erst um 17 Uhr kann ich mich entspannen. Und falls ich keine Vorlesung habe, heißt es entweder lernen oder Hausaufgabe bzw. Hausarbeit schreiben. Essen? Nä, das nimmt einfach zu viel Zeit! Diese Tage bin ich Andy: unter Stress, unterernährt, kaum geschlafen, aber trotz Allem, überglücklich! Jeden Tag liebe ich Bauingenieurwesen mehr und mehr.

New In!

I ordered shoes just in time for the cold avalanche we're having in Berlin. The weather is most funny these days: I wake up to 10 degrees in the morning and walk out of the university with 23. That means either I freeze in the mornings or I roast myself in the afternoons. I go for the latter. I've been considering buying boat shoes (Sperrys, Timberlands?) for the upcoming semester, but then I saw these shoes in JustFab and I couldn't resist them!

Back to Uni Musts

This monday my alarm rang at six in the morning: Uni time. Wait, you'll say, doesn't the semester start in October? Yes, yes it does, but my inner nerd called me telling me there was an opportunity to take Linear Algebra and Analysis before the beginning of the winter semester and I couldn't just ignore that. Of course I wasn't sure of this decision, but I applied anyways, telling myself that I'd call it off if I didn't want to, but I'm completely thrilled by it! On the Sunday before the beginning of the Early Bird course I was freaking out. Do I have everything that I need?

What I'm into...

Recently I've been fascinated by african head wraps and turbans. With summer around the corner and m hair getting frizzy and wild with the sun, I wanted to look for a way to tame it, hide it, or wrap it in a way that protects it from the sun and looks great. This week my major Tumblr search has been head wraps, the african way. I'm completely awed by how beautiful they look, and how chic it goes with a light dress and statement earrings. Of course, don't forget bright colors!

Isn't this completely beautiful!? I've finally found an use for all my scarfs in the summer and a way to style my big curly hair without looking like Hagrid! Here's one of the funniest and sassiest tutorials I've seen

Obsessed: shift dresses

Summer's slowly peaking these days and all I can think of are dresses. Long, short, monochrome, pattern, you name it. All I want to do is wear dresses, drink lemonade and go roadtripping somewhere in Europe. But then reality hits me and I reluctantly crawl back to my desk and open all my Uni books. Well, for the sake of procrastinating (I have an organic chemistry test tomorrow), I'll leave some of my summer inspiration, you'll notice I'm blue-obsessed!

Quick fashion post

Ok this is becoming an habit! Today I didn't go to classes in the morning because I was truly exhausted, so I took the morning to myself: sleeping. It was much needed! At 12 ran some errands and now as I'm writing this I'm loading all my recovered files (YES!) to my Dropbox account and some things to my Google Drive. Please let this be an opportunity to shout out my love to Google, I love that they track every single thing I type on my Search Bar, from everywhere! See why: I was going to a meeting and left the little memo where I wrote the address at home. Terrible mistake! I only remembered the bus station where I had to get off at and the street and I only had 10 minutes until the accorded time! I went through my history and bam! there it was. So big thanks to Google! Besides, they backed up all the pictures I've taken with my phone ever since I got it, so no lost pictures! Being tracked is not that bad after all.

The perfect wardrobe

Some days ago I was checking my bloglovin newsletter and one post from Into Mind caught my attention: How to Build the Perfect Wardrobe: 10 Basic Principles. Since I came to Germany I've been struggling to find myself, what I love, what I believe, what I want to do and how I want to do it. Among those is my fashion style, and it hasn't always been the same. As I was younger I was just wearing what worked and was weather-appropiate. See, when you live in the northernmost part of Colombia, it can be up to 40°C... everyday. So I'd basically wear shorts and light shirts all the time. Then there was the time where I started to dress like everyone else to "fit in". 

I've come a long way since then. As I came to Germany I had to adjust to seasons, to really mind the ever-changing weather and dress accordingly, and ended up developing my own fashion style, which is really a mixture of nautical prep with polished fashionista. I can't deny that some blogs have influenced my style, like The College Prepster or FashionHippieLoves, but I've certainly never felt so good about my style and so confident. I express myself with the way I dress and it gives me that extra boost even on the days where I'm feeling horrible. Team Positivity!

So enough with the throwback, I'll share with you this amazing post that definitely made me take a look at my closet and reevaluate all my pieces.

 

 I personally think that the most important are Quality over Quantity, Comfort and Versatility. Do you agree with these principles? Would you add some more?

Ich bin immer auf der Suche nach neue Mode Marken die mich die Gelegenheit geben, Farben und Styles auszuprobieren. Kürzlich war ich bei Nordstrom.com und habe mich in Eliza Js Kleider verliebt. Sie sind überschön und sehen ganz bearbeitet aus. Die oben stehenden sind meine Favoriten, sie sind perfekt für das kommenden Wetter bzw. Hochzeiten. Was denkt ihr?

Bipolar state of (shopping) mind

The weather has been so crazy this year. We had just one day of snow in December and then we had a autum-ish cold weather that made no sense at all. Finally, the winter and its beautiful snow arrived this week and everything is far more beautiful. Winter sales make their appearance with the sole purpose of waking up the mad shoppaholic in me and I couldn't resist buying this soft sweater and stocking up shoes for summer (already?!)

Dieses Jahr ist das Wetter immer noch verrückt geworden! Wir hatten nur einen Tag Schnee in Dezember und danach gab es ein herbstliches Wetter, welches kein Sinn gemacht hat. Endlich ist der Winter da und auch seinen schönen Schnee, und nun ist alles schöner geworden. Winterschlussverkäufe tretten auf mit dem einzigen Ziel, den irrer Shoppaholiker in mir aufzuwachen. Ich konnte es nicht helfen und habe ich mich einen kuscheligen Pullover gekauft und auch die wunderschönste Sommerschuhe (schon?!)
